We are Daryn DeZengotita and Celia Barshop. Welcome to our wild journey of relocating to beautiful Lake Chapala in Jalisco, Mexico.

We decided to document our experiences and create a website. We are learning so many things along the way, and we needed a place to keep all that knowledge organized. Plus, we thought it might be helpful for other people considering the same path.
 

Let's introduce ourselves. Celia has been in the public events business, working at iconic Dallas venues like The Majestic Theater, Klyde Warren Park, Fair Park, and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. And I'm Daryn, a seasoned marketing communications pro.  Lately, I've been helping progressive church organizations turn their unused spaces into trendy coworking spots.

We've been together for a whopping 25 years, and now we're preparing ourselves for this grand new adventure. We're happy to share what we learn along the way because, let's face it, we're still total newbies ourselves. We visit the area a couple of times a year (aren't we fancy?), but we're far from experts. That's where this website comes in. Our goal is to curate and share our honest listings, offering you a glimpse of what life is really like here through our first-hand experiences or first-person experiences.
